Can't wait to see you all at the 24th annual Budwesier Illinois Blues Festival featuring great blues entertainment on three stages at beautiful downtown Peoria´s Riverfront Park! Considered one of the top blues festivals in the Midwest, the Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival comprises two days of internationally known Blues artists and workshops and is produced by Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment,www.jaytv.com, with proceeds going to the Illinois Blues Coalition.

ROAD TO MEMPHIS

The Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival is the official host for the "ROAD TO MEMPHIS" which is the official competition leading to the Blues Foundation's world famous INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE. Sponsored by the River City Blues Society, this is an opportunity for unsigned Illinois bands to compete for entry into the IBC with expenses paid by the River City Blues Society with help from a funding grant from the Illinois Blues Coalition. You'll be able to see all these bands and more compete at the 2011 Budwesier Illinois Blues Festival.

The Illinois Blues Coalition supports Blues Societies, Blues Music Entertainers and Blues Music Education by offering grants and scholarships to help fund projects which preserve and promote the history and future of blues music. The objective of the Illinois Blues Coalition is to promote the art form of blues-related music by performance, by interpretation, by preservation and by enhancement of appreciation through knowledge and education.

BLUES LESSONS

A popular addition to our festival is "Blues Lessons" featuring musician workshops and history of the blues educational seminars. Peoria has a long blues tradition and has always been a major influence in blues music. It began in the days when the blues masters would travel from Chicago, floating down the Illinois River to St. Louis, and then on to New Orleans. Peoria was, and still is, the place to stop! Even the blues men and women knew the famous cliche, Will It Play In Peoria??
